Working Woman's Dreams

I am fascinated by collage and with my background in design love fashion images. I have also been feeling so pulled between the aspect of mothering my children and the desire to paint ad return to school, I wanted to try to represent this with a crazy kind surreal dream scape using a collage image.

The composition looks something like this... With a dove representing peacefulness and a parrot representing the carefree lifestyle of youth both flying out of the picture with a dog and a baby and some butterflies, adding to the surreal aspect of the picture, also the woman's features are displaced....so far looks something like this... in water colour...

I have used a resist to block out the more detailed forms so I could really develop the background. I am pleased with it so far...

Organic abundance

This is a piece I did over the summer, kind of like a sampler, I was really trying out my brushes and the paint to see what they (and I could do). A little bit of pressure after all the mouthing off about how much I really wanted to paint...

I tried to feel the flow of the paint and to do different things with the brush, to create different effects. In the end it was more like an acrylic piece than a water colour as the colours do not blend so very much, but i was fun, full of organic forms and sexual imagery. (Georgia O'Keeffe, here I come!!!)

Humble beginnings...

The nifty watercolours I began with, purchased in Dijon.
I Love them...
My first attempt at a portrait of Lily,

and of Riel. Not bad?
