Oooh ya, I made it!!

Against all the odds, babysitter conflicts, sick children and a very-busy-at-work husband I actually made it to the painting class. I screeched in 5 minutes late...but...

...So happy to be there.
Here are the pics.

Paul Torsten, Italian sculptor and apparently master of many media, taking students and happily has room for one more.

I just happened to eject myself into a segment of paper and ink, not something I have tired, but interesting none the less...so bear with me

The Atelier....

The work to be rendered
and my stab at it...
I will attend 2 days a week, (vibrate...vibrate) and to top it off it is in a super cool neighbourhood much like a gentrified Queen west (for the benefit of any Torontonians...
Stay tuned...

Update...Working Woman's Dreams

The Dove
The Butterfly
The Parrot
So far, I am still working on getting the face to look right, and am really learning about rendering her face in watercolor...not easy....but fun and interesting, I want her to look real but surreal at the same moment...peaceful in a the waters run deep sort of way...stay tuned.

Hamburg and the Kunsthalle Museum

Our visit to the Hamburg Kunsthalle Museum, check it out here.
There was a very good classical gallery, which we enjoyed immensley, and I discovered a new Favourite artist, Otto Runge. One of his works that I loved below, You can check him out here.
This is one of his works called Small Morning", fabulous dreamlike quality.

I took some pics of some other things that struck my fancy, As you can see especially the more dreamlike abstracts...

These were really cool smal sculptures made out of paper pulp , painted and suspended, very cool.

We saw some very interesting groupings made with photographs painted over with a thick paint like Jesso and then and scraped clean with a blade leaving a portion of the painting exposed...very cool idea for my photos or for a photo collage.
